Membership and Education
Membership
When referring to SPIE Members and Membership, always capitalize Member and Membership, even when SPIE is not included in the copy.
The same holds true for Corporate Members, Senior Members, Student Members, Early Career Professional Members, and Fellows or Fellow Members.
SPIE Student Chapter/s should always be capitalized.
Current and past officers of SPIE should have their title precede their name and the title should always be capitalized.
SPIE Past President Maryellen Giger
SPIE Vice President David Andrews
BACUS stands for the Bay Area Chromium Users Society and is a community supported by SPIE. We never refer to the full name of the group. Always use BACUS as the name and as a descriptor (ie. "BACUS newsletter") without periods between the letters.
Education
Do not capitalize "course/s" after SPIE when referring to our group of products.
"SPIE courses," not "SPIE Courses"

Names of individual courses are proper nouns and should be title case, but not italicized.
